The Galaxy S24 Plus is the one that splits the difference, and after a few dozen of them on the bench, I mean that in both the good and the mildly annoying sense. It’s got the bigger 6.7-inch display and the bigger 4,900mAh battery you’d expect from a “Plus,” with the same triple-camera setup and no S Pen silo you’d find on the standard Galaxy S24 — it’s just a larger version of that phone, not a different animal like the S23 Ultra. That said, “just bigger” changes more about a repair than people expect. More adhesive to heat evenly, more glass to torque without cracking, more weight behind every drop.

The Phone at a Glance

  • Display: 6.7-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X, QHD+ resolution, adaptive 120Hz refresh, flat Gorilla Glass Victus 2
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (U.S. models)
  • Memory: 12GB RAM, 256GB or 512GB storage, no microSD slot
  • Battery: 4,900mAh with 45W wired fast charging, 15W wireless
  • Body: Aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back
  • Water resistance: IP68 (rated for up to 1.5m for 30 minutes, when the seals are new)
  • Cameras: 50MP main, 10MP 3x telephoto, 12MP ultrawide, 12MP front
  • S Pen: Not included — that’s still Ultra-exclusive

Compared to the standard S24, you’re getting a notably bigger screen and nearly 900mAh more battery, plus faster 45W charging instead of 25W. Compared to the S23 Ultra, you’re skipping the S Pen and the periscope zoom module entirely — same core camera stack as the base S24, just a bigger canvas.

How We Rate This Phone

Repairability: 4/10

The pull-tab battery is exactly as good here as it is on the rest of the S24 lineup — that part of the job hasn’t changed. What has changed is the display. At 6.7 inches, there’s simply more surface area of adhesive to heat evenly without overheating the OLED underneath, which is the exact tradeoff the standard S24 avoids by being smaller. It’s not a difficult repair by any means, but it takes more patience and a steadier hand than the base model, which is why it lands a notch below it on our scale.

Durability: 5/10

At 196 grams, this is a noticeably heavier phone than the standard S24, and we do see it come in with drop damage a bit more often than its smaller sibling — more mass behind every fall. The upside is that bigger 4,900mAh battery: it’s the same pull-tab design, but the extra capacity means less relative strain on the cell for most people’s daily use, so we tend to see battery complaints show up later in this phone’s life than on the standard S24.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Screen Repair in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler & Tucson

Here’s what actually happens on our bench when an S24 Plus comes in with a cracked or unresponsive display:

  1. We test current display and touch response before disassembly, so you know exactly what was and wasn’t working going in.
  2. The frame is heated evenly across the full 6.7-inch panel to soften the adhesive without stressing the OLED — the larger surface area means this step gets more of our attention than it does on the standard S24.
  3. The damaged display comes off, and we transfer the fingerprint sensor components to the new panel, since Samsung’s biometrics hardware doesn’t come pre-installed on replacement glass.
  4. We recalibrate touch response and the fingerprint sensor before final assembly. Skipping this step is how a phone goes back together looking fine but with an unreliable fingerprint sensor.
  5. Fresh adhesive, a full reseal, and a final function test across touch, biometrics, and display uniformity before it goes back to you.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Battery Replacement in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler & Tucson

At 4,900mAh, this is nearly the same size cell as the S23 Ultra’s, and it uses the same mature pull-tab release as the rest of the S24 family. Here’s the process:

  1. We power down the device fully and confirm the battery’s condition — swelling changes how carefully we proceed.
  2. The back glass is removed to expose the battery compartment.
  3. We locate and slowly engage the adhesive pull tabs, applying steady, even tension rather than yanking, which is exactly how a tab snaps and turns a routine job into a longer one.
  4. The old cell comes free without the heat and solvent that pre-pull-tab Samsung batteries required.
  5. The compartment is cleaned of old adhesive residue and inspected for corrosion or damage the old battery may have caused.
  6. The new battery is seated and secured with fresh adhesive strips in the correct orientation.
  7. Back glass goes back on with a full adhesive reseal to preserve what’s left of the phone’s water resistance.
  8. We charge-cycle test the new battery and confirm accurate percentage reporting before closing out the repair.
  9. The old battery goes to a certified battery recycler — a punctured or deformed lithium-ion cell is a genuine fire risk, not something that belongs in a drawer or a trash can.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Back Glass Repair in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler & Tucson

No camera bump acting as a pivot point here, so back glass cracks are usually the result of a hard direct drop or a corner strike that spreads a crack across the larger panel. The repair itself is straightforward:

  1. The old adhesive is heated and the cracked panel is carefully lifted away from the frame.
  2. The frame is cleaned of all old adhesive residue, since any leftover bumps under the new glass can crack it again under normal pressure.
  3. The new back panel is seated with fresh adhesive and even pressure applied around the full perimeter and camera housing.
  4. We test wireless charging and all three rear cameras for focus and image quality before handing it back.

Typical timeframe: Under 90 minutes | Parts: In stock at all locations | Pricing: S24 Plus repair pricing or our general Samsung repair page.

We also handle rear camera lens replacement and charging port repair on the S24 Plus regularly — both are quick, same-visit jobs. Current pricing for those and every other S24 Plus repair is on our dedicated S24 Plus pricing page.

The S24 Plus is a genuinely solid phone to own and a genuinely reasonable one to repair — that bigger battery means less anxiety about degradation over the life of the phone, even if the bigger screen asks a little more patience from us during the repair itself.
